Commissioning and Ordination
Officers of The Salvation Army are people who have responded to a spiritual calling to devote their time and energy to the service of God. As the body of Christ, we came together on this significant weekend to affirm their calling and to celebrate their commissioning and ordination as officers of The Salvation Army who are ready to go wherever there is hardship and injustice to live, love and fight alongside others to transform Australia one life at a time with the love of Jesus.
All present witnessed the Messengers of Compassion and the Messengers of the Gospel dedicate their lives in service to the mission of God and The Salvation Army.
Sending Us Out
Our transformational God has gathered us from every community, every generation and every circumstance—and now he is sending us out in his name.
Still Others concluded with Salvationists gathering to praise God and prepare ourselves for mission. This dynamic and colourful session affirmed our newly commissioned officers and encouraged all Salvationists to stand alongside them, ‘co-missioned’ to live, love and fight.
Led by our International Leaders, General Brian Peddle and Commissioner Rosalie Peddle, and our Territorial Leaders, Commissioners Floyd and Tracey Tidd, this afternoon featured moments of celebration, worship, reflection and challenge.
